Explore Our Programs: Toddler to Kindergarten
Welcome to Reading Montessori School! In our Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten programs, we nurture independence, confidence, and motivation. Children are given uninterrupted time to work and play, with guides stepping in only when needed. Within clear boundaries, they enjoy freedom of choice, movement, and expression—embracing learning through exploration and even mistakes. Our approach is grounded in careful observation, helping us adapt to each child’s unique path and our community’s evolving needs.
Toddler Program
Montessori Learning RIE inspired
Our toddler classroom is a warm, welcoming space built around predictable routines that help young children feel safe and confident. Inspired by RIE and Montessori principles, we offer thoughtfully arranged materials within easy reach, encouraging children to explore, solve problems, and feel proud of their accomplishments. Children are invited to choose their own activities, use them with care, and return them when they’re done—building independence and focus from the start.
A cozy self-care area supports early toilet learning and helps children gain confidence in hygiene and personal care. The whole environment is designed for safe exploration and joyful discovery—nurturing each child’s natural drive to learn and grow within a respectful community.

Preschool Program
Building Independence and Joyful Learning
Our Montessori Preschool program builds on the independence children develop as toddlers, offering a rich and engaging environment designed just for their stage of growth. The classroom is carefully arranged with hands-on learning materials that are easy to reach and designed to help children discover and correct their own mistakes—building confidence, focus, and problem-solving skills.
Children choose their own work, explore it at their own pace, and return it when they’re finished. This freedom helps them take ownership of their learning and feel proud of their progress.

Kindergarten Program
Deeper Learning, Growing Confidence
Our Montessori Kindergarten builds on the strong foundation of our morning program and extends into the afternoon with exciting, in-depth learning experiences. During this time, children explore big ideas about the world around them—like how the Earth was formed, the magic of the rainforest, the mysteries of space, different world cultures, and what it means to be part of a peaceful, respectful community. They also dive into the world of famous artists and begin learning to play the recorder, which supports focus, musicality, and joy.
This extended day supports important academic and social growth. Children continue to build independence, work together with peers, and grow into confident, curious learners who are ready for the next step in their education. The Kindergarten year is a time of discovery, responsibility, and celebration of each child’s unique strengths in a vibrant learning community.
